HistoryThe first annual Capt’n Karl’s Run was created by my husband, Brad, and I out of the desire to give ultramarathon runners the opportunity to run a challenging trail for a charitable cause. The run is named after my father, Karl. He was honored to have the race in his name and made sure he could attend the first annual event on July 8th, 2006. Karl traveled from Plano, Tx. with my mom to start the race with the wave of “Karl’s Kanoe” flag. Karl passed away 6 weeks later. His strength, endurance and adventurous spirit helped him through life and his challenges with cancer. With these characteristics, it is only fitting the run is in his name. We hope this event has a special meaning for the runners, many have friends and family challenged with cancer and other aliments. Thank you for joining us. Nyla Quinn Please Support our Sponsors:
